Sharpen or Unblur — which do I need?
If detail is present but soft, sharpen. If detail is smeared, doubled, or missing — camera shake, missed focus — use Unblur Image, which reconstructs rather than refines. When unsure, sharpening is the quicker, lighter first try.
Why point it at a specific area?
Photos are judged where the eye lands: faces in portraits, text on products, the subject of a wildlife shot. Naming that area concentrates the sharpening where it earns the most, while the rest of the frame gets a natural overall pass.
Will it make noise or grain worse?
The pass targets edges and texture rather than flat regions, which keeps it from amplifying speckle the way naive filters do. On visibly noisy photos, run Denoise first for the cleanest result.
